Boom Boom Boom Everybody Say Ayew…

It was quite brilliant to watch him pull the ball back before placing the shot into the back of the net for the Swans first equaliser and he celebrated in the fashion you would expect from a player who had just netted on his Premier League debut.

The goal came just a couple of hours after his brother made his own Premier League debut for Aston Villa but it was the Swans Ayew who gained the most headlines thanks to his goal and his all round play.

There have been big things expected of him since the Swans secured his signature in the summer from Marseille and whilst Garry Monk has been quick to tone down expectations I think they will be rising up and up from the fans particularly when he makes his home competitive debut on Saturday against Newcastle

There were many clubs interested in his signature this summer but it was the Swans that emerged as the leading candidates early on and it has been widely reported that he made his decision for footballing terms rather than monetary ones which says much about how our club is viewed these days.

We, of course have a habit of pulling of some brilliant transfers and it could be that Ayew now could be as important to us as Michu was in 2012/13 or even Scott Sinclair in our promotion winning season from the Championship and that is saying something on both those fronts.

รขโ‚ฌล“Andreรขโ‚ฌโ„ขs really good going forward and Iรขโ‚ฌโ„ขm pleased he scored a goal because itรขโ‚ฌโ„ขs nice for any new player to get that first one,” said Swans skipper Ashley WIlliams

รขโ‚ฌล“But more than what he does going forward, heรขโ‚ฌโ„ขs such a team player, heรขโ‚ฌโ„ขs a competitor.

รขโ‚ฌล“He bust his head open, but it was an all-round good performance from him.รขโ‚ฌย

It was indeed an excellent debut from the summer signing but there is much more to come from him and that thought makes me very excited indeed.
