Vickers has been at Swansea for a few weeks now on trial and was out in Germany with the first team and played some game time out there and has also appeared for the Under-21s.
The 19-year-old worked with coach Tony Roberts at Arsenal and has been training with Swansea following his release by the Gunners.
The signing of Vickers will add some more depth to the goalkeeping department that already contains Fabianski, Nordfeldt and Gerhard Tremmel who returned to the club on a two year deal yesterday.
It was a predictable signing really for the Swans given the fact he had worked with Roberts before plus there had been good reports about the player and certainly on the face of it it does seem to be a good capture for the Swans
“I’m really pleased to have signed my contract with the club. I have been here five or six weeks now, taking part in some great matches and feel I have settled in well,” said Vickers.
“It’s going to be great to work with Tony and Lukasz (Fabianski) again and everyone has welcomed me really well.
“This club is going in the right direction. How the first team performed last year is breathing confidence though the whole team, it is a club on the up and its great to be a part of.”
