Gylfi On Swans Professional Performance

The second half was not that old when a ball from Kyle Naughton found Gylfi who hit a curling shot that came down off the underside of the bar and as both referee and linesman checked their system it told them it was not a goal and the scoreline at that time remained 1-0.

But it wasn’t long before the Swans got a goal from Andre Ayew which added to the first half strike from Bafetimbi Gomis that should be an early contender for the goal of the month award.

It was the perfect tonic for the Swans to follow up last week’s 2-2 draw with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and took us into 4th place in the Premier League overnight.

Sigurdsson was praising of his team mates at the end of the game which is not surprising given the ease in which we went past Newcastle even before the sending off towards the end of the first half.

รขโ‚ฌล“A clean sheet and two goals in our first home game for the season is a good start for us,รขโ‚ฌย said the Icelandic international. รขโ‚ฌล“Weรขโ‚ฌโ„ขve got four points from two games, and that is very encouraging.

รขโ‚ฌล“It was very important to get an early goal as that set the tone for the rest of the game. It really gave us confidence for the rest of the game.

รขโ‚ฌล“After getting the second goal we just needed to limit their chances and retain the ball, which we did very well.

รขโ‚ฌล“We didnรขโ‚ฌโ„ขt give them much in the second half รขโ‚ฌโ€œ it was a professional performance by the lads today.รขโ‚ฌย
