Fans Say No To De Guzman

Last week, on the back of the speculation that Bournemouth were showing an interest in former Swans loan star Jonathan De Guzman we asked the question as to whether we should be interested should he become available.

And the results of that poll suggest a clear no from Swans fans on an almost 2-1 basis showing just how strong our midfield has become since De Guzman left at the end of the 2013/14 season.

The Dutchman spent two years on loan at Swansea and of course played in our Capital Cup winning team of 2013 as well as playing and scoring for us in the European run that ended. However, since he left we have of course seen the arrival of Jack Cork and Gylfi Sigurdsson and the further development of both Shelvey and Ki and this has led Swans fans to state that we have moved on from De Guzman.

It doesn’t appear either that he will return to the Premier League with other clubs interested but – and probably not surprisingly – it’s a no from Swans fans to his return.
