There has been plenty of reported interest this summer with Jonjo Shelvey, Nathan Dyer, Ashley Williams and Lukasz Fabianski all linked with other clubs although the Swans don’t seem to have had a massive amount of confirmed interest in the players.
Certainly I am not complaining about that but it does surprise me a little given the form that the Swans showed last season to rise to 8th place in the league with a record number of points.
Reports this week have suggested that Everton are still interested in getting Ashley Williams as a replacement for the seemingly departing John Stones whilst yesterday we had links for Jordi Amat and QPR as they look to replace Steven Caulker at Loftus Road.
But Monk has worked hard this summer to bring in some key signings and give him what he wants in options in every position so it is little wonder that he believes that it will take an astronomical offer to prise any of his players away from the club at the moment.
He has also been critical of the fact that the transfer window is still open and he believes that it should shut before the season starts and given the chat floating around at the moment it is difficult to argue with him.
Monk said: “There will be no-one going out. I am very happy with the squad, this is the squad I wanted at the start of the summer.
“We do not have to sell any of our players and as I’ve always said it would take an astronomical offer for us to even consider it.”
