Gomis Happy With Season Start

When you factor in the goals that he scored at the back end of the season, Gomis has seven in his last eight appearances and is one of the most inform strikers on that basis in the Premier League.

After a slow start to his Swansea career where he was very much backup to Wilfried Bony, Gomis has pulled himself out of the shadows following the Ivorian’s transfer back in January and made himself a number one choice.

There was a time in January – and even possibly in the summer – that it looked like he would be on his way but he remains a Swansea player and the longer he bangs the goals in the happier we will all be with that.

The coolness with which he finished the perfect ball from Jonjo last Saturday shows just how high his confidence is at the moment and he will take that confidence into the weekend clash with Sunderland as the Swans look to build on their four points from six so far

รขโ‚ฌล“Scoring goals is great for my confidence,รขโ‚ฌย said Gomis. รขโ‚ฌล“I worked hard in the summer to come back fit and raring to go.

รขโ‚ฌล“My aim is to score more goals than last year and show a different side to myself at Swansea.

รขโ‚ฌล“I’m happy with my start to the season but it’s more important that the team has started well with good results.

รขโ‚ฌล“It was important to win on Saturday at home in front of the fans and carry on the good work achieved against Chelsea.รขโ‚ฌย
