“You have to win and lose as a whole football club. As players, staff and supporters we want to improve and we need to make the Stadium of Light a fortress.
“Nobody will shy away from the test on Saturday. The lads who have been here for three or four years will be desperate to play and the new boys who have just joined the club havenรขโฌโขt come here for this. We have a good squad and we have good character. We will get out of this and it is as simple as that.
“We canรขโฌโขt be naรยฏve and we canรขโฌโขt go out all guns blazing from the start because Swansea have shown that they are a top side in this league. We have to use our experience to get a result and there will be spells when we are under pressure.
“Whether it is one point or three we need to take something from the game. This weekend isnรขโฌโขt about going out there and putting in a five-star performance for the fans; it is about getting points on the board and building something. ”
