Could We Break Into The Top SIx This Season?

It is amazing what a good start to the season can do and we have – without a doubt – had a very good start this time around. An excellent 2-2 draw at Chelsea on the opening day of the season raised more than a few eyebrows and the fallout between Jose Mourinho and the club doctor took away much of the credit for just how well we played at Stamford Bridge.

Last week was a much easier game and we brushed Newcastle aside with some ease to record a two goal win and that is another game where it could easily have been more.

Our performances – and the performances of some individuals – have caused people to look at us again and realise that last season was probably no fluke and this is a very good side. Numerous articles have appeared on the internet again praising the way that we play the game and suggesting that this team can go further than the 8th place we achieved last time around.

A game against Sunderland this weekend is a game where everyone believes that we are more than capable of winning again and there will be more people convinced that Swansea could achieve something that just seemed an impossible dream when we first arrived in the Premier League.

Of course to make it happen then we will need a degree of luck both on the pitch and also with injuries but we know that Garry has put together the strongest squad we have ever had and even a few injuries would not prevent us keeping the excellent form that we have.,

The key will come when that form dips a little but Garry has a habit of lifting our spirits very easily and we know that we have had more than our fair share of upsetting the bigger boys in our time at this level.

A few more of those results this season (Man Utd at home is our next league game after Sunderland) and who knows what is possible.
