Gylfi – We Expect More Of Ourselves

Gylfi’s shot from the edge of the box was one of a series of good saves from the home keeper which included the incredible one that kept out a point blank header from Bafetimbi Gomis when the Swans striker had thought he had scored his second of the game.

It was all part of a frustrating afternoon for the Swans who were the better team throughout the match but were denied by those saves and also the post after a superb header from Andre Ayew.

However, the result kept us unbeaten after three games this season and next week we will pitch our unbeaten record against Manchester United’s own unbeaten record at the Liberty, that is of course after the midweek game against York in the Capital One Cup.

Sigurdsson though was backing the words of Garry Monk and Lukasz Fabianski who were both disappointed to have only left Sunderland with a point

รขโ‚ฌล“We were disappointed not to have won, especially as we took the lead just before half-time,รขโ‚ฌย said the Icelandic international.

รขโ‚ฌล“We had chances to finish the game off in the second half รขโ‚ฌโ€œ we hit the post – but we were wasteful plus their keeper made some great saves.

รขโ‚ฌล“We knew it was going to be a fight because of their start to the season.

รขโ‚ฌล“Itรขโ‚ฌโ„ขs always good to get a point at a tough place like Sunderland, but after last seasonรขโ‚ฌโ„ขs success we expect more of ourselves and thatรขโ‚ฌโ„ขs the challenge we face this season.รขโ‚ฌย
