What Side Will We Play Against York?

Quite how many changes he makes remains to be seen but the one thing he did this summer was to ensure that he has serious competition for every place and it is difficult to believe that the side he puts out will look weak even if it is fundamentally different from the side he picked at Sunderland yesterday.

This game seems the perfect opportunity to hand first starts to the likes of Kristoffer Nordfeldt, Franck Tabanou and Eder as well as a chance for the likes of Leon and Matt Grimes to come into the side and get some much needed game time under their belts.

Garry will also have near the front of his mind the visit of Manchester United next weekend so I suspect he will want to keep many of the players fresh for that game and whilst he may well retain a few on the bench in case of ’emergencies’ I don’t expect to see many of the side that played at the Stadium of Light get any action on Tuesday.

Angel Rangel, Nathan Dyer and Wayne Routledge for me are almost certain to start whilst Kyle Bartley is also likely to get a place. Monk may opt for Ashley WIlliams to retain a place in central defence if Jordi Amat is not back to full fitness but he could in theory also play Ki there as Laudrup did in the final at Wembley in 2013.

I think the Swans will end up lining up something along these lines
