First we had the news that Sunderland had reached an agreement for a loan deal for the player and then Bournemouth media started reporting that the Cherries had agreed the same. Then it went one further with Sky suggesting that Everton were also in the hunt for the player along with sides from abroad.
It certainly is looking likely that we will see De Guzman at the Liberty at some point this season but which one of those three teams remains to be seen.
It will though bring to an end a year at Napoli after his two years at Swansea but there seems no speed from his agent to get a move completed in the next day or so
“It’s true there’s an agreement for the player to go on loan with a purchase option included for the English club, but we are all working towards finding a solution for De Guzman, who is not in the plans of [Napoli coach Maurizi] Sarri for this season” said his agent Fabian Parisi.
“Sunderland is there and so is Marseille and there are other options.
“We will choose the best option for us and for Napoli.
“Jonathan is an attractive player in the transfer market and we will need a few more days to decide.”
