Stephen Dobbie At It Again For Bolton

Dobbie was a major factor in our success that season and was possibly the final catalyst that turned us from a side that had ambitions of the play offs to a side that was triumphant in that unforgettable day at Wembley.

Dobbie was also a starter in our first Premier League match against Manchester City but he never really made it in the Premier League and since that high point at Wembley it has been a very stop start career for Dobbie.

A loan spell at Blackpool came before a free transfer to Brighton from whom he was loaned to Crystal Palace who made the move permanent at the end of that spell before loaning him out to Blackpool for two spells and then another one at Fleetwood before he was released at the end of the season.

He is now at the Macron Stadium with another former Swan Darren Pratley and on Saturday he scored Bolton’s first goal of the season.

Dobbie hopes that the goal can kick start their season and he told their official website รขโ‚ฌล“Weรขโ‚ฌโ„ขve been playing well. We hit the bar three times against Derby and had what seemed like 50 chances in the Burton game – it was going to come eventually, but Iรขโ‚ฌโ„ขm just glad it came and we remain unbeaten at home in the league

รขโ‚ฌล“The table doesnรขโ‚ฌโ„ขt show how well we are playing this early on. It was vital for us to not lose today, especially after falling behind. The boys keep working hard, our spirits remain high and hopefully we can climb the table.

รขโ‚ฌล“If we keep playing like we are playing then hopefully the win will come soon. There is no reason why we canรขโ‚ฌโ„ขt aim for at least mid-table, if not higher – the ability is there in the team.”
