Montero Injury Not Serious

Montero has proved a real handful in our three Premier League games so far this season and the Swans would have been hopeful that he could have done the same yesterday had it not been for that injury.

Of course it sparked some conspiracy theories of transfer interest from elsewhere but they proved to be without foundation as Monk confirmed after the game.

Montero was replaced by Wayne Routledge who does not possess the same threat as the wide man and the Swans will be hoping that he is back to full fitness for the visit to Watford in two weeks time.

Asked after the game as to the extent of the injury, Monk said “Unfortunately Jeff pulled up in training yesterday with a bit of soreness in his quad, but he has had a scan and it is nothing clinical”

Montero has attracted plenty of plaudits this season and there are plenty more to come but the injuries remain a small concern to us as he missed plenty last season with niggly injuries as well.

The two weeks rest will do him good though and give Watford plenty to think about!
