Collymore On “The Pride Of South Wales”

The Swans have gained a habit in the top flight of beating the so called bigger teams with league wins now achieved 9 times against the so called big four of Chelsea, Manchester City, Arsenal and Manchester United and let’s not forget cup wins over Chelsea and Manchester United as well.

The latest of those came on Sunday when Andre Ayew and Bafetimbi Gomis struck to give the Swans a third consecutive win over the Old Trafford side and that has attracted much attention as the Swans lift themselves into fourth place in the Premier League which has now taken a break for internationals.

Collymore has been extremely praising of the Swans and the style that we have developed over the past ten years which has seen teams at all levels play with the same style as part of the philosophy that we work with.

And it certainly works at first team level as we have an uncanny knack of seemingly improving every season and just once in the period since Roberto Martinez took over in 2006 have we finished in a lower placing than the season before which is an incredible statistic in itself.

รขโ‚ฌล“Itรขโ‚ฌโ„ขs not so much of a surprise when you look why and why the Pride of South Wales are embarrassing United, Arsenal, Spurs and Liverpool in particular, on an almost daily basis,รขโ‚ฌย said Collymore.

รขโ‚ฌล“Swansea buy players at the beginning of the window, bedding them into the team.

รขโ‚ฌล“United, Liverpool, Spurs and Arsenal will probably all be on the phones looking for key ingredients around 5pm Tuesday.

รขโ‚ฌล“Swansea have a system of play that goes from youth to first team. A seamless journey if youรขโ‚ฌโ„ขre an 18 year old for example.

รขโ‚ฌล“Do Spurs have a system of play? Do either Liverpool, United or Arsenal promote youth that they, not other clubs, have developed anymore?

รขโ‚ฌล“Swansea get the management criteria right, young, principled, ambitious.

รขโ‚ฌล“Spurs? Old and experienced Harry who worked without a DoF, or young AvB or Poch , the polar opposite. Liverpool went Roy, back to Kenny, Rafa the benign dictator, and Brendan the coach.

รขโ‚ฌล“United wanted to give a Fergie protege a chance in Moyes but ended up with a guy who, if heรขโ‚ฌโ„ขs honest, was probably looking at topping up his pension rather than turning a juggernaut around.

รขโ‚ฌล“The Swans? Martinez, Rodgers, Laudrup, Monk. Coaches, similar style, all adding something from the next.

รขโ‚ฌล“So Man United, Liverpool, Spurs, Arsenal, and even to a degree Chelsea and City who were huge underachievers before the money came along, maybe you all should look at little old Swansea to run a football club, you may just get the consistency you all crave!รขโ‚ฌย
