Some ‘experts’ in France believed that his move to Swansea was the wrong one for the player this summer.

This was based on the fact that he had offers from elsewhere but turned them down for what has always been told to be football reasons rather than monetary reasons which is backed up by a statement from Jack Sullivan a few weeks back that West Ham offered £90k per week which is more than he gets from Swansea.

Ayew has started the season in blistering form with three goals in his opening four Premier League fixtures and has been nominated for the player of the month award which will be revealed tomorrow.

That has put a few people back in their box in terms of whether the move was the right one and Canal+ journalist Pierre Menes is an outspoken journalist in France and he commented on the Ayew move “People said Swansea was a s*** move for André Ayew. When you see Swansea’s start of the season, maybe it wasn’t that s*** after all.

“And, you have to put yourself in the player’s shoes. He received a big cheque on arrival and the salary that goes with it.”

He added: “He’s also going to play twice against Arsenal, United, City, Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham. In a year, that’s 12 games that are on the same level as Champions League ones.”
