The 21,000 capacity of the Liberty Stadium has been a sore point for us for several years especially as we have established ourselves more and more in the Premier League. Not only does it impact on the gate revenue that we can get in for matchday income but it also prevents many people getting to the Liberty Stadium on a matchday.
The Swans will be in danger of missing out on a whole generation of Swans fans coming in without the expansion and despite the cost of it, it surely has to be something that the club start and the sooner the better.
Almost every home game is sold out at the stadium to home fans and that means limited tickets and the inability for the club to do any special offers or deals with local schools to get more people into the ground.
It was something that we did on a reasonably frequent basis in League One and the Championship but it is something that has been taken away from us thanks to the popularity of the club since we arrived in the Premier League in 2011.
There have been talks seemingly with the council about the Swans buying the stadium but surely expansion has to come first although it would be good to strike a deal with the council now for a potential purchase in the future at a fixed price before expansion.
But either way the club are being told to expand and we have to do it as soon as we can
