Everton Next – Let’s Bounce Back

We went into Saturday with a huge feeling of optimism that we would continue our unbeaten start to the season but it was not to be as the whole team seemed to have an off day and we were second best for most of the afternoon.

Even when we had a one man advantage we couldn’t make any real inroads into the Watford defence and whilst we had a couple of half chances at the end we could have had no complaints come the final whistle.

So with the unbeaten record gone and with it the place that we held in the top four for the two weeks of the international break.

What we know though is that we have not become a bad team overnight but what Saturday will test is the resolve in the squad. Whether it is a good or a bad thing that we are facing Everton remains to be seen but one thing is certain is that Garry Monk will be spurring his team on to show that the first four games of the season were no flash in the pan.

We have never beaten Everton in the league but there is always a first time for everything and this would be the perfect time to start especially with them flying so high. Roberto appears to have instilled some belief into them over the summer and they are certainly exceeding their expectations at the moment.

What we need to remember is that we have played five games this season, one of which was under par and therefore we are more than capable of producing the performance we need to win this weekend.

Let’s hope that we do
