And now, if reports on ESPN are to be believed, Cork is a real potential for a call up next month which would be just reward for the player that the Swans snapped up on a bargain fee from Southampton in the January transfer window.
Cork arrived at the Liberty Stadium in that bargain deal and has featured in every Premier League game since putting in a string of superb displays that have attracted positive reviews from many people.
He is looking the exact player that the Swans wanted him to be and he is always looking for the ball and distributing it with great effectiveness and looks just the kind of midfielder that England are looking out for.
With Roy Hodgson’s side having secured their place in Euro 2016 with plenty to spare the time now is for him to decide which players will make up his full squad for France next summer and it would be a travesty if Cork was not at least given the chance of proving that he is worthy of the place.
You won’t find too many Swans fans who believe he shouldn’t be part of that squad and it would be brilliant to see both him and Jonjo getting the recognition that their performances deserve.
The next squad will be announced at the beginning of October ahead of the last two qualifiers of the campaign.
