Martinez Ready For Tough Swansea Test

Everton, like the Swans, have had a good start to the season and they come to the Liberty on the back of a convincing win over the champions Chelsea last weekend so there will need to be a massive step up in performance from the Swans compared to the one that we saw last Saturday at Watford.

Our home form this season speaks for itself with two league wins from two (and a Capital One Cup victory) and we will be looking to extend that one hundred per cent record on Saturday and we certainly need to bounce back.

Last week was hugely disappointing from the fans and players view alike and I am sure that Garry Monk will have reminded his players of that during the course of the week and use it as a spur for us this Saturday.

Everton boss Martinez knows exactly what will wait for him in Swansea having been manager here for a couple of years after taking over from Kenny Jackett in 2007. He led the Swans from League One to the edge of the Championship play offs before heading off to another former club in Wigan and then onto Everton as David Moyes successor.

รขโ‚ฌล“They have started where they left off in the last campaign, which was a very impressive season,รขโ‚ฌย said Martinez.

รขโ‚ฌล“They are a unit that works hard for each other but they are also a technical side who want to get the ball. They are a possession team and they have players in very good moments of form.

รขโ‚ฌล“The new signings have adapted really well into the pace of the game. This team is ready to replicate their success from the last campaign.

รขโ‚ฌล“The way they performed against Manchester United wasnรขโ‚ฌโ„ขt an accident at all. When you go to the Liberty Stadium you are going to be heavily tested and it will be a very good game of football because of the good form we both take into the game.รขโ‚ฌย
