Williams On Another Poor Swans Performance

When the Swans returned from the international break on September 12th, we were a side in the top four places of the Premier League and on the back of a win over Man Utd at the Liberty. Just two weeks later and we have scored one goal in four games and dropped down the league as well as being dumped out of the Capital One Cup.

It makes the heady days of August seem so long ago as we scratch around for a bit of form and know that our away performances against Watford and Southampton in particular have not been acceptable.

And that is a view shared by captain Ashley Williams รขโ‚ฌล“We are really disappointed. We didnรขโ‚ฌโ„ขt do enough to get anything from the game

รขโ‚ฌล“It was a poor performance as a team รขโ‚ฌโ€œ on and off the ball รขโ‚ฌโ€œ so it was a disappointing day.

รขโ‚ฌล“We moved the ball slowly and didnรขโ‚ฌโ„ขt play with any intensity or pace.

รขโ‚ฌล“In the second half we wanted a reaction and we conceded an early goal. We didnรขโ‚ฌโ„ขt get going until the last 15 minutes.

รขโ‚ฌล“It hurts us more than anyone at the club. The boys were very down in the dressing room, as they should be.

รขโ‚ฌล“We are the ones that go out there and play, and even if we donรขโ‚ฌโ„ขt perform we have to come out and speak (to the media) and face up to it.

รขโ‚ฌล“We put a lot of work in throughout the week in order to win this game, and when you donรขโ‚ฌโ„ขt get the performance and result it hurts. The fans are disappointed, and so are we.

รขโ‚ฌล“I understand we will lose games, but the manner in which we lost the game was disappointing. That wasnรขโ‚ฌโ„ขt us out there today.

รขโ‚ฌล“Itรขโ‚ฌโ„ขs all about showing the right attitude and training well in order for the next game รขโ‚ฌโ€œ the senior boys will make sure of that.รขโ‚ฌย
