Curtis finds himself in charge of the Swans once more following Tuesday’s departure of Bob Bradley and he is almost certain to find himself in charge for Saturday’s game against Bournemouth even if a permanent appointment is made in the meantime.
The Swans can probably count themselves lucky that they have someone in the backroom staff who will step up when needed and stand in whilst the search for a manager goes on. And when that man is someone who has a connection with the club that goes back over 40 years you know that you are going to get someone who will give the job his all.
Curtis has always been someone who has said that he will happily step in and step aside just as quickly when needed and for that we should always be grateful. I am sure that if the club ever offered him a permanent position as manager he would take it but for someone who had one of the greatest talents I have ever seen he has always struck me as one of the most modest people you could met.
I grew up watching Curtis playing football and can safely say I class myself as privileged to have done so but to see his legacy with the club go on and on makes me proud to be a Swans fan. There is much that has gone wrong with our club over the past few years but retaining Curtis on the staff is not one of them and we should always be thankful that we can turn to him at times like this.
The word legend is banded about a lot in football but in the case of Curt it probably isn’t a strong enough description for the man who simply is Mr Swansea City.
Thanks for stepping in again Curt and you know you will always have the support of the Jack Army
