Trust “encouraged” by Clement appointment

After publicly criticising the club in October over the appointment of Bob Bradley, new Supporter Director Stuart McDonald said that the Trust were this time around consulted fully over the appointment of a new manager, somebody that they believe can get the Swans’ identity back.

Speaking to the Evening Post, Stuart said “As a Supporters’ Trust we are of the view that the appointment of Paul Clement represents what Swansea City have traditionally sought in their managers,” said supporter director Stuart McDonald.

“He has a pedigree of working at some of Europe’s top clubs, he knows how those teams operate and why they are successful and we believe his ideas and his principles will fit with ‘the Swansea Way’.

“We feel Paul Clement will give us the chance of retaining our Premier League status and, if that is not possible, of making sure we are a competitive proposition in the Championship.

“We were certainly pleased by the open channels of communication during the search for our new manager

“We have had good discussions with Jason Levien and Steve Kaplan over recent works and we are certainly encouraged by that dialogue and their desire to work with us. We feel we have made positive steps in that regard.

“With the managerial recruitment, we all had an input into the criteria of the man we were looking for, what his qualities should be. We were all in agreement on those criteria and hope Paul Clement helps restore the club’s identity.”
