It has been the ongoing story of the Premier League transfer window that Llorente was wanted by Chelsea as cover for Diego Costa but it now looks as if he wants to stay here and build on the 8 Premier League goals that he has scored this season.
Those eight of course included two great finishes in the Swans famous win at Liverpool last weekend that lifted us out of the relegation zone ahead of Tuesday’s home clash with Southampton.
I think many wondered whether last week’s game was the last time that we would see the striker in a Swans shirt but it now seems that we have plenty more to come from the man who joined us last summer.
For me it was vital that we probably did hold onto Llorente in this window. Losing a striker who is scoring goals would be mad at this point in time especially as we have no particular replacement seemingly lined up and certainly not in the squad itself.
And if the reports are right then this is as good a news as any signing we will make this window and well done to Paul Clement for making it happen.
