Does Swans Safety Signal A Move For Chelsea Defender?

Terry was on Clement’s radar back in January when it was announced that he could leave Chelsea but the long standing Chelsea captain turned down the chance not just to join Swansea but to join Bournemouth as well.

It was just before the Swans embarked on a four match unbeaten streak in April that Clement admitted in his weekly press conference that he would speak to Terry and following the weekend results you have to wonder if this will now happen.

Clement has seen Alfie Mawson and Federico Fernandez link up to become a reasonably secure partnership at the back for the Swans with just three goals conceded in the last 6 games showing just what a turnaround it has been for a side that was shipping goals for fun in the first half of the season.

But a move for Terry could add some valuable experience to a squad that has flirted with relegation for the past two seasons and could do with an old head at times to show them the way in a very similar way to how Leon Britton has in recent weeks.

That said, whether we need someone who is likely to be nothing more than a bit part player – especially with the wages that he will command – is up for debate and I cannot see from a personal perspective that, despite his great career achievements (on the pitch), what he would add to our squad that should take up what would be a large chunk of our budget
