We Could Have Been Sunderland

The Swans went into the New Year a point adrift of Hull and two from Sunderland both of whom have been relegated in the past few weeks. It was four points from safety as well with Crystal Palace in 17th on New Year’s Day and more than a win clear of the Swans.

26 points from 18 games later and safety was assured thanks to Palace’s 4-0 win over Hull yesterday and the Swans keeper believes that they could have ended up in Sunderland’s position on Saturday had it not been for the managerial change

รขโ‚ฌล“It could quite easily have been us in Sunderlandรขโ‚ฌโ„ขs position,รขโ‚ฌย he said

รขโ‚ฌล“You would have to say it was pretty bad, not just in terms of results but the way we performed.

“We were not just losing games but losing them by three goals. It was horrible both home and away.

รขโ‚ฌล“Before the manager arrived, we looked in pretty bad shape.

รขโ‚ฌล“A lot of people had written us off so for him to do what heรขโ‚ฌโ„ขs done in little more than four months, is pretty impressive.

รขโ‚ฌล“No one would have predicted after beating Sunderland, we would find ourselves four points clear of Hull.

รขโ‚ฌล“It just shows you the corner we have turned since the manager came in.รขโ‚ฌย
