Reports today suggested that a deal worth anywhere between รยฃ1.25m and รยฃ1.5m will be completed for the wideman who previously spent time on loan at Blackburn, Leeds and Nottingham Forest.
Barrow joined the Swans back in 2014 but has made just 19 league starts in 3 years with a further 32 appearances from the bench. He spent the second half of last season at Leeds and has never made an appearance for the Swans under Paul Clement.
In truth there is clearly potential in Barrow but it has never materialised and he does seem like one of those players who relies on his pace but is easily sussed out by defenders and particularly at Premier League level.
A permanent move away to the club will do the player good and give him the chance of regular first team football which I would imagine will help him and maybe realise some of that potential realised earlier on.
And from our point of view it will free up a wage off the bill as well as bring in some income to add to the transfer budget for the summer.
Barrow should leave with no malice, simply a player that looked good but never really fitted in.
