Roberts spent last season on loan at Celtic where the hoops won the domestic treble under former Swans boss Brendan Rodgers.
Roberts was impressive at Parkhead, scoring 11 goals and assisting in a further 19 as they went through the domestic season unbeaten to secure a league and cup treble.
Celtic had hoped to secure a permanent move for the player but he was recalled to Manchester City where reports suggested that he may be given a chance in the first team. However the Daily Mail is reporting that City will be prepared to listen to loan bids for the player and both Swansea and Southampton have been linked.
The Swans interest is thought to be dependent on the future of Sigurdsson which is hoped will be clearer later this week when the team returns from their pre-season tour of the US.
It has been reported today that Everton have had a รยฃ45m deal agreed with the club although this is believed at this point to be nothing more than paper talk with discussions still ongoing and no agreement reached.
If Sigurdsson moves then we all know that it will signal a flurry of transfer activity at the Liberty with potentially four or more players coming in with the money received from one of the largest transfers in British football history.
A move for Roberts – who cost City รยฃ11m when they bought him from Fulham – seems on the face of it to be a good one but it is difficult to know whether there is any truth in the story – after all it is the Daily Mail.
