Negredo was on loan at Middlesbrough last season where he scored 10 goals in a side that was very goal shy and for me he would be a player who could add something to our squad and certainly has goals in him,
It is difficult to see him coming here – or even the Swans needing him – if we hold onto Fernando Llorente but if Chelsea do get their man then someone like Negredo would fit the bill for me.
We already have options up front with Abraham and Ayew and someone like Negredo would replace the aerial threat that we have had from Llorente but maybe without a complete reliance to play to it which we had at points last season.
What I don’t see from us in this coming season is a reliance on one way of playing, having different types of players obviously gives us different options when we need them and a move here makes sense on a lot of fronts.
A stumbling block could well be the wages with Negredo allegedly receiving 6 figures plus a week but that’s not to think about at the moment.
Negredo has two years remaining on his contract at Valencia, but the Spanish club are thought to be ready to listen to offers for a player deemed surplus to requirements just 12 months ago.
