Llorente’s goals in the second half of the season were one of the main reasons why we are still looking forward to a seventh season in the Premier League but he has also been a target for the Champions since the January transfer window.
Blues boss Antonio Conte wants to work with the striker again and sees him as an ideal player as he prepares his side for a title defence following last season’s success.
Reports on Sky Sports suggest that it will take a fee of รยฃ20m to persuade the Swans to sell with reporter Dharmesh Sheth saying “The Swansea striker Fernando Llorente is still of interest of Chelsea too,” Sheth added.
“I’m told he would cost in the region of รยฃ20million.
“It should be stressed though at this point that no formal talks have taken place with Llorente and Llorente is recovering from the fractured arm that kept him out of Swansea’s pre-season tour of the United States of America.”
The Swans are being linked with moves for several strikers at the moment – Chris Wood from Leeds, Alvaro Negredo and Wilfried Bony amongst others although it is expected that any of them would only be pursued if Llorente was to be sold.
I can certainly see Chelsea coming in with a bid, whether that is enough for us to sell remains to be seen but at รยฃ20m I think that would be good business.
