Who Cares What Saunders Thinks?

Saunders was talking about Philippe Coutinho who seems set to be on his way out of Anfield and he expressed a statement that if they were to sell then they should look to replace him with Gylfi, Juan Mata or Isco.

Coutinho has been linked with a move to Barcelona this summer and whilst Liverpool look to be holding out at the moment, it seems unlikely that the draw of the Nou Camp will be able to be ignored for too much longer.

Clearly Saunders is on the radio to express his opinions but I have to say that I am slightly surprised at how much press coverage the statement got, after all it is not a case that Liverpool have even shown an interest in Gylfi. Nor do I expect them to for that matter.

Given the column inches created from Saunders’ comments then you can expect almost every day new stories to emanate, especially when you take the source to be something as nasty as TalkSport.

This one has no truth in it at all and even with the sale of their own midfield maestro there is no way that Liverpool will move for Gylfi.
