This has been one of those on/off transfer sagas of the summer with no firm contact ever made from the Champions but plenty of press column inches given to a potential move especially after Diego Costa was frozen out of action at Stamford Bridge.
The suggestion is that they could be ready to tempt the Swans with a รยฃ15m move before the transfer window closes on Thursday and with the Swans pursuing Wilfried Bony’s return then there could be every chance that we could be persuaded to let last season’s top scorer leave.
The paper reports that Llorente is well aware of the interest from the Champions and has been said before to be keen to play again for Conte after a successful spell together at Juventus.
The Swans have already strengthened their forward line this summer with the loan signing of Tammy Abraham – ironically from Chelsea – and with Bony on our radar you do start to wonder whether three strikers would be too many for us to hold.
There were reports yesterday that Everton were also interested in Llorente but – like the Chelsea move – that has not materialised into anything
Of course we could be cheeky and ask for Diego Costa on loan as part of the deal (assuming Chelsea cover most of his wages!) but that may just be one step too far. (Tongue in cheek!)
