Llorente found the back of the net 15 times last season in the Swans successful fight against relegation and had been linked with a move to join up with former manager Antonio Conte at Chelsea since January.
But Spurs stepped in at the last minute on deadline day and Llorente completed a move there late on in the day with the Swans replacing him by bringing Wilfried Bony back to the Liberty Stadium,
Clement though understood why Llorente wanted to make the switch and said “I really enjoyed working with Fernando. He was such a big player for the club in the one season he was here. His goals in the latter stages of the season were vital for us to remain in the Premier League.
“He will be missed by the players, staff and supporters, but I can understand why he would want to take the move at his age. He has fought his way back to a high level in the latter stages of his career and is joining a big football club.”
Former Crystal Palace Chairman Simon Jordan though was less complimentary of what Llorente bought to the table when he told Sky Sports News รขโฌลLast year, I looked at him. It was a couple of times, I thought this boy canรขโฌโขt trap a bag of cement. He comes on against Crystal Palace, scores two goals in that 5-4 win, and he is back in flavour again.รขโฌย
