Steve Cooper heads into the last week of fixtures before the next international break declaring that whether the Swans fail or succeed they will do it by playing their way.
Cooper watched his side pick up what feels like a rare home win over Stoke in midweek and will look to make that a perfect week when Blackburn visit the Liberty Stadium tomorrow.
The Swans have not won back to back league fixtures at home since August 2019, a record that speaks volumes for our home form in the past 14 months.ย But with away trips to Brentford and Norwich to close this mini round of games, Cooper will be all too aware of the need for the Swans to put in another good home performance against Blackburn.
The international break will come at a good time for the Swans who will have played six games in three weeks and – after the break is over – that volume of games will continue up to the Christmas break meaning games come thick and fast testing Championship squads to their limit.
With Brentford and Norwich being two of the pre-season favourites in this division the next seven days could give a good indication of our own promotion credentials, another fact that won’t be lost on the Swans boss.
โAll we will do is commit to our way of playing and our style of play, how we prepare for games, how we try and treat the players when it comes to making them feel the best we can for games.
โWe hope that will be enough, but you do have to adapt and you do have to evolve at certain times of the season. There are times you have to do more than tweak things.
โBut, in the end, we want to succeed or fail by doing it our way. That will definitely be our plan.โ
