Great work on season tickets

There are times when it is right to criticise the club and there are times when it is right to praise them and the season ticket pricing so far for 2021/22 definitely falls into the latter category.

Today’s announcement that prices will be set at ยฃ299 until the end of March is a fantastic gesture hot on the heels of the ยฃ99 deal that allowed people who leftย  the money in this season to renew for next term.

This is a great example of the club and Trust working together for the benefit of the fans and particularly when you factor in the financial impact of the Covid crisis that has hit so many people in different ways.

With season ticket sales already closing in on the 7,000 barrier this is a superb position for us to be in as a club and one that we should be proud of with realistically us heading towards next season with half the capacity of the ground secured in season ticket sales despite the ongoing certainty as to when fans may actually be allowed to return to watch the games.

Rebecca Edwards-Symmons, Head of Commercial, said: โ€œWe want the Liberty Stadium full when we are allowed to welcome you back safely. We also want to make the experience affordable for all families within our fanbase. This is about us understanding that these recent times have been worrying for you and showing you that we understand.

โ€œWhen children are growing up, they choose what football club to support and this is why we have reduced our price for under-18s across the board to ensure that they choose Swansea City. We want our children and our childrenโ€™s children to be part of the Jack Army and it was vital that we future proofed our fan base at this critical time.โ€

It is now almost a year since the Liberty was open to fans to enjoy the atmosphere and we can certainly see that there should be a level of crowd back in for next season.ย  The financial impact to everyone – including the club – I am sure will be felt for some time but this is another great example of the club appreciating the position of the fans, something which has sadly been lacking in recent seasons.ย  ย And long may it continue.
