Swansea City have moved this evening to condemn historical Tweets made by on loan forward Paul Arriola.

Arriola, who joined the club at the end of the January transfer window, made the Tweets back in 2012 and contained some very derogatory comments for which the player has this evening apologised with his own statement.

A club statement issued this evening was clear in their course of action with a statement which read

Swansea City has been discussing the issue with Paul, and we support his decision to be the one to address these historical tweets and to issue an apology.

Paul is committed to participating in both unconscious and conscious bias training, which he will undertake upon his return to DC United.

Swansea City will be making no further comment on this matter.

Screenshots of the tweets have appeared on Social Media which prompted Arriola to issue his response.
