Tony Mowbray has today confirmed that he is unlikely to have either Adam Armstrong Or Jarrad Branthwaite available for the Swans clash on Tuesday evening.
Both players missed out as Blackburn returned to winning ways against Millwall at the weekend – Armstrong through aย tight hamstring whilst Branthwaite sat out due to a non-COVID related illness.
And on the eve of the game, the Blackburn boss admitted that neither were likely to return for the rearranged clash with the Swans and also added that Armstrong in particular was just not being risked for the game.
โAdamโs pain-free, but if itโs a tendon injury then weโll have to be careful,” said Mowbray.
โFrom what Iโm told, you have to rehabilitate the tendon otherwise it can be damaged pretty quickly.
โHeโll have to go through a strengthening period, hopefully around a week or so.
โSo I imagine that heโll be back on the grass later this week and weโll wait and see whether Friday night against Brentford will come too soon for him.
โIt wonโt be too long, Adam wonโt be out for six weeks.
โJarrad is hopefully going to be back on the grass today, but heโs been ill and I wouldnโt anticipate him being involved,” he added during his Monday morning press conference.
โI think heโll be a bit washed out following his illness, so I expect itโll be the same kind of group, the same squad for Swansea.โ
