Steve Cooper was very coy on just how long the Swans could be without Marc Guehi but from his comments it does seem that we could be without the defender for both the Bournemouth and Cardiff games in the next week.
The defender missed out on today’s 1-0 win at Luton – a win that kept the pressure up on the teams at the top during a weekend in which both Brentford and Watford secured away wins at all to keep the battle going.
The Swans now face an away trip at Bournemouth in midweek before Cardiff arrive at the Liberty next Saturday for a game in which the Swans could create history with the first ever league double between the two sides.
Cooper was asked about the fitness of the defender after the game against Luton and admitted that he could miss further games although he was non committal as to an exact period of time.
โI think he will be out for a little while, it is still settling down. Itโs a fatigue muscle injury, so it is inconclusive (in terms of exactly how long recovery will take) at the moment,โย he said.
โMarc has had a brilliant season. He is 20 and playing centre-back in the Championship, so playing at the level he has is a credit to him.
โHe will be chomping at the bit to get back, because he just wants to play.
โBut Joel Latibeaudiere came in today and I thought was excellent in a difficult game.โ
Guehi has started in 31 of our Championship games this season.
