Stacey John-Davis scored four times in the second half to get the Swansea City ladies team off to a winning start as they played their first match since November and secured a comfortable – and dominant – 5-0 win over Aberystwyth to keep up the pressure on Cardiff Met at the top of the league.

The ladies team took a first half lead when Chivers finished coolly after a good move and that was just the boost that the team needed after dominating large periods of the half.

The second half though was very much the Stacey show as she scored four times in a little under 40 minutes to complete a rout.  The first came on 53 minutes when she found the top corner from six yards out having been played in by Chivers.

Two became three after 77 minutes when Hughes set up her second and the hat-trick was completed in the 82nd minute when she kept her cool in a one on one situation to grab her third and the Swans fourth.

The fifth – and John-Davis’ fourth – came in the last minute when Stacey latched onto a pass from Lake and rolled it into the back of the net to complete the scoring and a very satisfying afternoon for the team.

The win keeps the ladies hot on the heels of Cardiff Met who won 4-0 on their return away at Briton Ferry Llansawel.
