It was just what we didn’t want to happen as Watford beat Sheffield Wednesday at Vicarage Road this afternoon to move nine points clear of the Swans in second place and increase the pressure on the squad for this evening’s game.

A 7th minute own goal proved to be the difference between the two sides but it was enough to give Watford another win on their road to promotion that possibly now leaves them just maybe four wins (or less) away from the Premier League.

Sheffield Wednesday were without manager Darren Moore after he tested positive for Covid-19 and his side were unable to peg back Watford and keep themselves in severe relegation trouble, six points adrift from our opponents this evening.

Watford’s next match is away to Middlesbrough on Monday night but all of a sudden tonight has definitely become a must win game if it wasn’t already.
