Unlike the words of his counterpart it was difficult to argue with the assessment of Mark Warburton after last night’s game when he summed up his team’s performance as “Tremendous” as they took all three points home from South Wales.

The Swans were once again made to look second best for most parts of the game as they slipped to another home defeat and effectively ended any lingering hopes that they may have had of securing a top two spot.

Warburton may have had to wait for the last minute for his team to score the decisive goal but it was the least they deserved on a night that they dominated and could easily have won by a greater margin.

Speaking to the official QPR site after the game, Warburton said “It was a tremendous performance by the players.

“I thought we started the game a bit slow and tentative, we didn’t really get on the front foot but then we did, and we started creating chances.

“We were very, very good on the ball, we posed a real threat and the players deserve enormous credit.  We looked a good team tonight and got a well deserved three points.”
