After two successive draws, Swansea City Ladies returned to the top of the league yesterday afternoon with a 3-0 win over Cyncoed which moved them three points clear of Cardiff Met with just four games of the season remaining.

Goals from Ellie Lake, Emma Beynon and Jessica Williams secured a win for the Ladies although Cardiff Met could regain top spot this afternoon when they play Abergavenny.

The Swans took the lead in the 18th minute.ย  Katy Hosford crossed the ball for Lake who took a shot which deflected off Grace Morris and found the back of the net.

In a title race that could easily come down to goal difference the Swans pushed on in search of more goals and were rewarded by two more goals in the second half.

Firstly Beynon’s shot from the left wing found the back of the net and the scoreline was given the convincing nature it deserved when Williams also found the back of the net from a long distance free kick.
