Swansea City Ladies strolled into the next stages of the WPWL cup this midweek with a 6-1 hammering of Cardiff City keeping alive their hopes of a league and cup double.

The two sides met on Wednesday night level in positions in Group Two with one win each but the result was never really in doubt as the Swans side moved into a comfortable first half lead and hammered home their advantage in the second half.

Ria Hughes, Stacey John-Davis, Tija Richardson, Emma Beynon (twice) and Katy Hosford were all on target for a dominant Swans side who followed up a 3-0 win over Cardiff in the league earlier in the season.

Cerys Pinchard.
