As the transfer rumours all start to gather pace the latest one suggests that the Swans are keen on bringing Ben Wilmot back to the Liberty Stadium despite him having a year left to run on his Watford contract.
Wilmot spent all of last season at the Liberty on loan but went back to Watford at the end of the season and has made 27 appearances this season (admittedly around half of which were as substitute) as the Hornets bounced back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.
But a report in the Athletic suggests that the 21-year-old has yet to commit his long-term future to the club and sees his current deal run out next summer which could force Watford into letting him go with the Swans one of a few teams rumoured to be interested.
There is a little doubt that Wilmot played well in his time at the Swans last season but it is difficult to know with a rumour like that as to whether there is genuine interest or just an easy link for a player that looks set to move on in the summer.
I would though file it under a distinct possibility and it would make sense for all parties.
