Swansea City are reported to have beaten the likes of Celtic, Rangers, Preston and Sheffield United to be at the front of the queue to sign young Wigan striker Kyle Joseph and make him their first summer signing.

Interest was first reported at the start of the week and now Wales Online is reporting that talks are at an advanced stage of discussion and Joseph looks set to be on his way to the Liberty Stadium.

Joseph is out of contract this month but was offered fresh terms by the Latics but  appears destined to secure a move to south Wales on a free transfer in the near future after positive talks with the Swans.

Given that Joseph is under 24 years of age, the Swans would be required to pay Wigan a compensation fee – with that sum yet to be determined.
