Marc Guehi has added to his departure words with a hint for any young player looking to develop their careers – Swansea City is the place to be.
As Guehi returns to see what the future holds for him at Chelsea he left with a ringing endorsement of the Swansea City setup particularly as it has enhanced his growing reputation within the game.
And whilst he was not able to help the Swans return to the Premier League he already said at the weekend that he was leaving with a piece of the Swans in his heart.
The Swans financial position will always mean that there is a focus on youth and young hungry players to help us be where we want to be and that was something recognised by Guehi who said to the club’s official website โI have learned so much from everyone here, from the coaches to my team-mates, to the staff.
โItโs a club that sets really high standards but also embraces young players.
โYou look across our squad and there are a lot of players who are 20 or 21 years of age. Itโs a club where your age does not matter. If you are good enough, you will be given the chance.
โI will always be so grateful to Swansea whatever happens in the future. Itโs a great club for young players.โ
Guehi’s words will no doubt help some of the Swans summer transfer dealings and could also open the door for more moves of young players from the Bridge in the future and with a ringing endorsement of Swansea that can only be a good thing?
In recent years they have been keen to see the likes of Mason Mount and Tammy Abraham leave for loans in the Championship and, as well as Guehi, we also had Conor Gallagher last season as well.
