Woodman to Bournemouth, deal from Newcastle United delayed

Freddie Woodman will be back in the Championship next season but the Swans have missed out on another one of their targets of the summer as news emerged yesterday that he has agreed to join Bournemouth on loan.

The Newcastle Chronicle reported that the keeper was on the verge of joining the Cherries having completed a medical ahead of the move given his chances at Newcastle were slim.

However, the move has now been delayed thanks to a foot injury to Martin Dubravka which has put that exit on hold whilst Newcastle assess the extent of the injury with early suggestions saying that he could miss the start of the new season..

Woodman is not with his Newcastle team-mates at their pre-season camp in York, instead posting a picture on his Instagram account from London – a development that has sparked plenty of transfer theories among fans.

The loan deal to the South Coast is still expected to be completed but a long term injury could see him remaining at St James Park and facing a time as a back up goalkeeper.
