Russell Martin watched Olivier Ntcham score his first goal at home this afternoon to complete a comprehensive first half for the Swans and signalled out the midfielder for praise after the game stating very clearly “he is going to be special”

Ntcham capped an excellent first half Swansea display with the third goal of the afternoon and was at the heart of much of what Swansea were doing good demonstrating an ability to create space in the midfield that was enjoyed by the ever willing outlets of Paterson, Bidwell and Laird amongst others.

“Olivier is going to be special. He possesses such talent but such a humility. The way he interacts with his team-mates, his professionalism, he’s an impressive human being,” said Martin after the game.

“I think the crowd like it, and I’m really pleased he scored today, I think it’ll do him the world of good.

“He’s building up fitness and he’s another one who has probably had less game time than a lot of others because he came in late then he had a little injury.

“He’ll get better and better, but today I thought he was top.”

Ntcham was given a break in the second half when he was replaced by Flynn Downes but it was probably more of a welcome break to Peterborough than to the player who many stated was a gamble by the Swans on deadline day but a gamble that certainly could pay dividends the longer the season goes on.
