It is being reported that Liverpool are unhappy with the amount of game time currently being afforded to Rhys Williams at Swansea and are considering a recall of the player so they can loan him back out in the January window.
Williams signed on loan for the Swans during the summer transfer window but has found game time limited in Swansea leaving the Sunday Mirror to report that Liverpool are not happy with the situation and want to take him back to Anfield.
Williams has started just two games for the Swans since joining and has just 140 minutes of action during his time here including pretty much none since he was hauled off at half time at Luton with the Swans three goals behind.
Terms agreed in the loan mean Swansea face financial penalties for not playing Williams enough, and a departure in January seems likely.
Liverpool were hopeful that the move for Williams would see progression in a career that was showing promise at Anfield but seem unlikely to just want him bench warming in South Wales so it could appear that a recall is on the cards.
Williams suffered racist abuse at Luton and just two weeks back Russell Martin was full of praise for himย “Heโs been good. Heโs responded brilliantly. He had a tough week or two after what happened at Luton, then Brighton was a difficult evening. He showed great bravery to come out and play straight away,” he said.
“After that heโs recovered really well. Weโve had a lot of chats, Liverpool sent their loan manager down and heโs been really impressed with what heโs seen and the way Rhys has trained and worked. It’s part of every young playerโs journey, sometimes you have to be patient.”
Don’t like the idea of other clubs telling us who to play on the other hand Martin has failed to get a one from the player.
