We should never lose the way we want to play

Russell Martin takes his side to Middlesbrough tomorrow with a key view on how they are approaching the game as he looks for another brave performance.

Martin was looking back on the last away trip for the Swans when they won 2-0 at Barnsley in a game that they totally dominated, with over 800 completed passes even if they were made to wait for late goals to secure all three points.

As the season approaches its halfway mark, the style of play that was adopted when Russell Martin has long since gone and he now has the team consistently dominating possession and playing their way around the park largely to good effect although last week we can see what happens when it goes wrong as Reading took all three points home from the Swansea.com stadium.

Martin though does not want one defeat to change things too much and he vowed to go to the Riverside Stadium tomorrow with the same mindset of previous games and asked his side to continue being brave and playing the way that we want to.

โ€œI feel like against Derby and Barnsley in particular, youโ€™d suggest we were the home and dominant team,โ€ he told the club’s official site.

โ€œThe Barnsley performance, I loved it. We were so dominant. It took a while to break them down and you have to respect them. But I thought it was a really strong away performance, and I think these guys are brave enough now to be able to play how we want to, home or away.

There are no new injury worries for the Swans ahead of the trip with Martin addingย โ€œWe have everyone fully fit and everyone is raring to go.

โ€œWe have had a really good week of training working on some bits and analysing last weekend.

โ€œYou canโ€™t legislate for everything but we have had a really good injury record over our time as a coaching group, and thatโ€™s down to the excellent sports science and medical teams we have worked with.

โ€œItโ€™s also down to the guys and their willingness and ability to train really well, with real intensity to do everything possible to be ready for a Saturday.โ€
