Brandon Cooper is a Swansea player with a promising future ahead of him.ย He is relishing in his involvement within the first team and says that he is “chuffed” with his experiences to date and learning from the experienced head around him.
Cooper has been at Swansea now for fifteen years – since he was just six years old – and now has a new contract in his back pocket that will see him through to 2024 at the club with the option of a further year beyond that.
He has appeared for a Russell Martin side seven times already this season and believes that he is progressing more than he imagined under the boss and credits that progression not just to Russell Martin but the likes of Ryan Bennett and Kyle Naughton who he is learning from all the time.
“Martin has been great for me personally,” Cooper told the League paper.ย “I’ve had seven games but I feel like I want more now.ย At the start of the season if you had toldme that, coming off the back off injury, I would have been chuffed with that.
“It’s been a complete change in style which has suited me and suited a lot of the boys and as you can see, the team is showing good signs.ย There’s a lot of competition and you’ve got to thrive off that really and when you get a chance, try and perform as best as you possibly can.
“Learning from the senior players like Naughts and Benno is great for the likes of myself, Ben (Cabango) and Rhys (Williams).
“It’s really good to get their insight on how to play the game and also just watching them, seeing how Naughts conducts himself playing in the middle.
“If I can take little bits from what he does, that can only help me and I can try and get into the team that way.ย Hopefully I can now try to push and get more games in the team here and just keep improving.”
